Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)
Signal a lane change and, if there is a possibility of a collision, BVM will show live video footage on the instrument cluster of what’s in the blind spots of the outside mirror on the side of your intended lane change.
Lane Following Assist (LFA) & Lane Keeping Assist(LKA)
To help keep you from drifting out of your lane, LKA monitors your K5’s position between the lane markings. If you begin to wander to either side, and have not signaled a lane change, it alerts you visually and audibly, and even steers you back into your intended lane.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) Including Junction Turning (FCA-JT)
FCA uses a front-view camera and front radar to detect vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists ahead. By warning the driver and automatically applying the brakes, FCA helps to avoid or reduce the severity of an accident.
Safe Exit Assist (SEA)
Using the K5’s rear corner radar, SEA detects cars approaching from behind and cautions passengers who may intend to exit the vehicle. SEA will even override Electronic Child Safety Lock settings until the approaching vehicle has passed.
Parking Distance Warning (PDW)
For utmost confidence and peace of mind when maneuvering into and out of tight parking spaces, PDW uses ultrasonic sensors mounted on the front and rear bumpers to warn you of any nearby obstacles.
6 Airbags
To help protect occupants and reduce injury in a collision, the K5 is equipped with driver and front passenger airbags, two front-side airbags, and two side-curtain airbags.
Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop&Go
SCC maintains the driver’s selected speed and, using the front-view camera and front radar, helps to maintain a safe following distance. SCC will reduce speed and even stop the car when needed. Then when the car ahead moves, SCC automatically accelerates for you. SCC is now activated with the simple touch of a button.
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)
The RCCW radars detect the presence of cross traffic in the lane the K5 is backing into. If a vehicle is detected on either side, an audible warning will sound, and a cluster warning graphic will illuminate, until the path is clear.
Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
DAW monitors your driving patterns. If it detects fatigue or inattentive patterns, it will warn you audibly as well as with a display panel message recommending a rest. Its sensitivity can be adjusted to fit your preferences.
Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW)
At speeds of 20 km/h or higher, BCW alerts you if a vehicle enters your blind spot, even when you are in the process of changing lanes. LED warnings flash on the door mirror and an audio warning is emitted when you signal to make a lane change.
Surround View Monitor (SVM)
When operating in confined spaces, multiple cameras provide you with a zoomable, 360° overhead view of the vehicle’s surroundings, so you can maneuver with confidence and without having to get out of the vehicle.
